On a sweltering summer day in the Lowcountry, “John” came into the Dorchester Resource Connection Center take a minute away from the heat. Our Family Navigator chatted with him, and it quickly became clear we could support him with some additional needs. We were first able to get him access to free and affordable food. We then connected him to SCSEP (South Carolina Senior Employment Program) to access training and resources to get back into the job market. He left with a clothing voucher, a referral and a smile on his face.
