Annual event starts now through July 20. Online portal makes helping a student as easy as a few mouse clicks

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – Trident United Way realizes building a strong community means starting early with our kids. Our Young Leaders United donor network is leading the charge with an online school supply drive that runs now through July 20.
For less than $16, an elementary student can be supplied with a backpack and about 15 essential supplies. The pandemic was tough for many families, so even one backpack can make a big difference.

To make things easy, no trudging to the mall or a big box store to pick out items to donate. We have two online options: a backpack or a school supply set.

“We are so proud our Young Leaders United group is leading valuable public service that will help so many kids be prepared for this upcoming school year,” said Amanda Sito, Trident United Way Director of Strategic Volunteer Engagement. “The pandemic certainly took its toll on our community and this effort helps kids and parents focus on school and takes the worry out of the costs associated with it.”

Special thanks to UPS, who is donating temporary storage space and will be making deliveries to area schools once all items are ordered.
