In the Tri-County community, nearly 4 in10 households fall below the ALICE Threshold. Many of us are ALICE or have been ALICE. Certainly, we all know ALICE.

What many of us don't fully understand are the realities of life in an ALICE household. How does it feel to walk the tightrope of financial insecurity?

Many of our neighbors face daily struggles to make ends meet, going from agency to agency to apply for the services and support they need to survive. The journey can be frustrating and dangerous, with missed medical appointments, unreliable transportation, unstable childcare and minimum-wage jobs that can be lost at the drop of a hat. If you’ve never walked this path, it can be hard to fathom.

The Trident United Way Poverty Simulation exists to bridge this gap of understanding. This two-hour immersive experience will demonstrate the complexities of life below the ALICE threshold, offering a deeper insight and understanding into the importance of serving our neighbors and helping us all achieve financial stability.
