Our Work
In September 2015, the Kindergarten Readiness Network discussed two potential catalytic projects to help increase Kindergarten Readiness.
Voucher Expansion - Proposed expansion of the childcare voucher system to increasing access to quality childcare for moderate and low income families.
Early Childhood Resource Hub - A comprehensive resource hub to provide information, training and navigation services to families, childcare providers and others involved in the supporting the development of young children.
Kindergarten Readiness
Resource Hub Catalytic Project
In March and April of 2016, Trident United Way conducted focused groups and surveys with Child Care Directors and low-income mothers to vet the need and relevance of proposed catalytic projects. Synthesis of qualitative and quantitative data and found that parents, practitioners, and community-based organization feedback supported the need and desire for a comprehensive Kindergarten Readiness Resource Hub.
In May 2016, the Kindergarten Readiness Network approved of the Resource Hub Project.
