Trident United Way is helping people get the right care, at the right time, in the right setting.
Access to Health Care -- supports the development of a regular system of care for low-income uninsured people that provides increased access to primary and specialty care including dental and mental health services.
· Access Health Initiative — Trident United Way convenes a community-wide collaborative effort to develop a coordinated network of health care services for low-income uninsured people in Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester counties.
· CHIPRA Grant — Outreach and Enrollment for Children’s Health Insurance Program. Trident United Way supports the work of Palmetto Project in the implementation of a federal grant to increase the number of eligible children enrolled in the state Children’s Health Insurance Plan using The Benefit Bank technology.
Prevention of Chronic Disease -- influence healthy behaviors so that people reduce risk factors that lead to illness and early death. Trident United Way is developing a School-based Health Promotion Initiative that works with schools to incorporate nutrition education, daily physical activity and family engagement.
