Local Companies Can Now Sign Up For The Largest Day of Caring In The World

Charleston- Picture your block where hundreds of people just left their jobs for the day. They swarm out from everywhere. Some would be at a school hammering together sandboxes while others are down the road repainting a homeless shelter. Right across the street are more people preparing care kits for military families. Right next door, total strangers are showcasing their talents to senior citizens at a lively cook-out.

And every one of them is adorned in a Live United t-shirt.

Now imagine that what you see is just a small segment of the thousands of people joined in a movement across the Lowcountry to help improve the lives of others.

Stop imagining; it is real. It’s Trident United Way’s Day of Caring, the largest Day of Caring in the world, and it takes place right here in Berkley, Charleston and Dorchester counties. Around 7,000 people will be involved this year helping with projects just like these for local non-profit agencies.

It’s a day that no one wants to miss out. Signing up for Day of Caring projects has now begun. Companies or volunteer teams can sign up online at www.tuw.org/DoC.asp and be part of United Way’s Day of Caring on September 14th.

There will also be a project for unaffiliated individuals. That will be announced soon.

Day of Caring brings $1 million of labor and supplies to local non-profits in a single day. Trident United Way makes it possible and volunteers make it the largest in the country.
